Tuesday is Primary Election Day in Nebraska

Tuesday is primary election day in Nebraska.  There will be a number of contested races going on around the listening area.
    Residents of Richardson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Johnson and Otoe counties will be narrowing the field of candidates to serve as Nebraska 1st District State Senator from six down to two.  Candidates include Alvin Guenther, Neal Schatz, Jerry Joy, Douglas Bohling, Dan Watermeier and Bruce Bernadt.
    The top two will advance to November General Election.
    Contested races on Tuesday by county include:
Richardson County:
HTRS School Board – Incumbent candidates include Joe Standerford, Sandy Stalder, Ben Steffen and Allen Fankhauser.  Seeking seats on the HTRS Board are Rock Herr, Todd Binder, Mike Bredemeier and Corey Hain.
    Votes in this election will be cast in parts of Richardson, Pawnee, Nemaha and Johnson counties.
    The top six will advance to the November General Election. 
Richardson County Commissioner – District III  Republican ticket -  James Standerford and write-in candidate Phillip Fischer.
Pawnee County:
HTRS School Board;
District I County Commissioner – Republican ticket – Dennis Schaardt and Gregg Clement.  There is no Democratic candidate.
Johnson County:
District II County Commissioner – Republican ticket – Dr. Theodore Evans and Larry Kuhl.
St. Mary’s – Keno proposal:  yes or no.
Village of Sterling Sales Tax of 1-percent  - yes or no
HTRS School Board.
Nemaha County:
District II County Commissioner:  – Republican Ticket  - Incumbent Dennis Wittmann,  David Ross Helms and B. Dan Gerdes. 
Auburn City Council:
Ward I : Dennis Goering,  Thomas Clark and Anthony Johnson.
Ward III: Chris Erickson,  Jeffrey Jeanneret and Mitch Bishop.
Top two advance to November General Election.
