(KLZA)-- Falls City Council members approved a second amended and restated interlocal agreement for Southeast Region 911 Communications Services Procurement and Delivery when the Council met Monday.
Falls City is partnering with a number of area communities and counties for Public Service Answering Points to move to Next Generation 911. Included in the agreement is the City of Lincoln, Beatrice, Crete, Cass County, Clay County, Fillmore County, Jefferson County, Johnson County, Pawnee County, Nemaha County, Nuckolls County, Otoe County Seward County, Thayer County and York County.
The equipment required to have Next Generation 911 is very expensive and with the joint effort, only two units will have to be purchased instead of one for each city or county.
