(KTNC) -- The Falls City, City Council, unanimously approved a resolution to set wages and benefits for non-union Police Department employees, city management, and part-time and seasonal employees during Monday’s meeting.
The council approved a salary increase of 65-cents an hour for the Assistant Police Chief, bringing the salary to $26.50 an hour and a 44-cent increase for the non-union dispatcher, bringing that salary to $17.97 an hour.
The council approved a two-and-a-half percent salary increase for the City Administrator, Deputy City Administrator, and Utility Superintendent. That brings those salaries to $67,348 for the City Administrator, $50,976 for the Assistant Administrator, and $66,514 for the Utility Superintendent. They also receive $100 reimbursement for using their personal vehicles in town for city business.
The Police Chief’s salary will be determined when a new chief is hired.
The part-time dispatchers also received a two-and-a-half percent salary increase, the Swimming Pool Manager received a $50 per month pay raise, and other part-time and seasonal employees received a 25-cent per hour raise.
The salaries for the city management, assistant police chief, and non-union dispatcher are retroactive to October 1st.
In other action Monday, the council approved a request to add Thomas Hamilton to the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department roster.
The council approved a request from the First Christian Church to remove the loading zone at 1322 Stone Street to add two additional parking spaces.
The council accepted the bid of $82,500 from AHRS Construction to complete infrastructure improvements for the Wilderness Falls project. That work should be completed in mid-February or early March.
In his report, City Administrator Gary Jorn told the council the city was replacing the middle two entrance doors at the south end of Prichard Auditorium. He said other maintenance work in needed at the Auditorium, including possible concrete work outside the front entrance.
