(KAIR) -- A majority of Monday’s Atchison County Commission meeting centered on hearing a report from the new countywide ambulance service, which began in January.
Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen says while it’s too early to establish a trend, the EMS operated by Holton-based Techs Inc. has reported a largely positive response time. (Play Audio)
Bodenhausen says they also discussed operations moving forward, including EMS setting an equipment replacement schedule.
Commissioners were also informed by Solid Waste Manager Matt Dorssom about an opportunity to apply for a grant to build a small building to safely move the hazardous waste from the present location at the recycling center just outside Atchison city limits to the county transfer station on Neosho Road, several miles west of Atchison.
No decision was made on permission to move forward with the application.
