(KAIR) -- The new Amelia Earhart Bridge in Atchison is now open to its final traffic configuration.
As of 4:30 Wednesday afternoon the bridge opened to its final four-lane traffic configuration after four years of project construction.
The four lane configuration runs from 5th Street & U.S. 59 in Atchison to the foot of the bridge in Winthrop, Missouri.
Details are still pending on the deconstruction of the old bridge.
