One Person Injured in Atchison Wreck
06/26/2013

(KAIR) - A Troy man was injured in a  two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in downtown Atchison.

Police Chief Mike Wilson says it happened just after 2:30, at 6th and Kansas Avenue.
Wilson says a motorcycle driven by 49-year-old Jeffrey Barnthson had been westbound on Kansas Avenue and turned south in front of an eastbound pickup on Kansas Avenue driven by 17-year-old Tyler Gering of Atchison.

Barnthson was transported to the Atchison Hospital with a leg injury.
Gering was not hurt.

Wilson says citations are pending from the accident against Barnthson for failure to yield and driving while suspended.
