Historic Register Wants to Save Property

(KAIR) -- The Kansas State Historic Preservation Office is looking to save a property in Atchison from demolition in an effort to protect its surrounding historical structures.

At Tuesday afternoon’s meeting of the Atchison City Commission at 4:30 at City Hall, Commissioners will vote on whether to override the register’s decision.

City Manager Trey Cocking explains.

Commissioners will also look to authorize the City Manager to sign a construction engineering services agreement to construct the hangar taxiways at the Amelia Earhart Airport.

They will also look to approve a right-of-way agreement with Northwest Pipe Company for Wallick Road.
