Nebraska Begins Search for New Men's Hoops Coach
03/11/2012

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ The Nebraska associate athletic director
who oversees basketball says the search for a new coach to replace
the fired Doc Sadler will focus on proven program builders.

Marc Boehm said Saturday that he and athletic director
Tom Osborne met Friday night to begin their work. Boehm said many
of the potential candidates will be coaching teams in the NCAA
tournament, so it might take anywhere from a week to a month to
bring someone on board.

Sadler earned $900,000 a year. Boehm said no salary range has
been set for the next coach, but he added that Nebraska would be
``very competitive.'

The Cornhuskers were 12-18 overall and finished last in their
first season in the Big Ten. The Huskers haven't won a conference
basketball championship since 1950.
