Nebraska Hires Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Northern Iowa assistant Ben Johnson is
leaving the Panthers to join the staff of new Nebraska coach Tim
Miles.
Miles, who announced Johnson's hiring Tuesday, already has said
he would bring recruiting coordinator Ron Coleman and operations
director Jayden Olson with him from Colorado State. Miles still has
an opening for one full-time assistant.
The 31-year-old Johnson was an assistant under Ben Jacobson at
UNI for four years, serving as the Panthers' recruiting coordinator
this past season.
Johnson previously spent two years as an assistant at Texas-Pan
American and was a graduate assistant at Dayton.
Johnson was a starting guard for four years at two Big Ten
schools. He spent his first two seasons at Northwestern and
finished at Minnesota.
