(KLZA)-- The Falls City, City Council this week approved a $5.3 million loan agreement with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality to repair and improve the city public water supply system.
The 20-year loan comes with a 2-percent interest rate and more than $1 million is eligible for loan forgiveness.
In other action, the Council approved an interlocal agreement with Richardson County for a joint aerial photo project as recommended by the Board of Public Works. The cost to the City over three years will be nearly $10,000.
The annual appointment of the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department, fire chiefs was approved. Ken Simpson will continue as Fire Chief, Matt Beer will serve as First Assistant Chief and J.R. Vernon Wisdom will be the Second Assistant Chief.
