(KAIR) -- In an effort to benefit Atchison’s non-profit agencies, the United Way, in conjunction with Atchison County and the city of Atchison, will host the first ever Community Leadership Breakfast.
It will be Friday morning, September 14th from seven to nine at the Heritage Conference Center.
Longtime United Way supporter and community leader Bud Cray will be the guest speaker that morning at eight.
Mayor Alan Reavis says the idea first presented itself during the economic downturn in 2008.

The event is aiming to allow United Way agencies an opportunity to showcase their efforts and improve the community, and how financial gifts empower them to help those in need.
