(KLZA)-- The Falls City Council unanimously approved Mayor Jerry Olivers appointment of Anthony Nussbaum to the vacant Ward IV Council seat Monday night.
Julie Bauman, CPA from Falls City presented an explanation of the Fiscal Year 2013-14 City Audit to the City Council.
The City received an unmodified opinion for the past year, which is the best that can be given.
Bauman noted the City of Falls City is financially sound and should remain that way in the near future. The audit shows the City had $45,911,000 in total assets an increase of $4.2-million. Equity increased approximately $4.3 million and liabilities were down by about $68,000.
Bauman also noted that her firm must also audit component units within the City, including an audit of EDGE and Main Street. These entities had combined assets of $341,000.
