(KTNC) - The Falls City Library and Arts Center is updating its patron database and is asking library users to update their contact information.
Library Director Hope Schawang says the new database includes photo identification and is associated with the recent addition of new computers the library received through a grant from the Nebraska Library Commission.
People who use the Library's computers currently don't have to register, but Schawang says as they collect data on how much the computers are used, they're asking computer users to register. She says providing that information could open up more grant opportunities for the Library.
Schawang says they’re asking people to update their contact information, since many people have gone completely cellular and gotten rid of their home phone line. The library also sends out e-mail notifications to patrons. She says this is a good time to update their database, since December tends to be a slower month at the Library.
Schawang says there is no deadline by which people need to update their information, but she says they’d like to update their database over the next few months.
She also says the library has many holiday-themed books and movies available to help kids, and adults, pass the time during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Falls City Library serves 4,154 patrons and adds an average of 29 new patrons each month.
