(KTNC) -- Understanding the Affordable Care Act will be the topic of an upcoming presentation at the Falls City Library.
Kathy Beers with A-A-R-P Nebraska will give the presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Beginning this year, an estimated 196,000 Nebraskans who have not been covered by a health plan will have access to health care through the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment in the health plans ends on March 31.
The health care law provides access to people with pre-existing conditions, creates health insurance market places, and provides tax credits to lower the cost of coverage.
Information about the Affordable Care Act is available at the website, healthcare.gov. AARP also has information online at www.healthlawanswers.org.
