(KLZA) Jim Hoy who lives in the 2600 block of Schoenheit Street in Falls City expressed to the members of the Falls City Council Monday night thoughts that many residents of Falls City have been expressing in private since the new property assessments were released earlier this summer.

Homeowners in the northwest section of Falls City were among those receiving significant increases in assessed valuations. ( play audio :37 seconds )
Hoy noted that he has found significant differences in assessments in abutting land. ( play audio :37 seconds )
Hoy is among many Falls City homeowners who have filed protests of their recent assessments. He told the Council that sales of homes in the general vicinity of his home, do not support such large increases. ( play audio :17 seconds )
Hoy finished up with a request of the City representatives to contact the County Commissioners. ( play audio :49 seconds )
At the conclusion of the meeting it was the consensus of the Council to draft a letter to the Board of Commissioners asking them to consider the protests received.
