(KAIR) -- Changes in two of the types of state employee benefits for city of Atchison employees is expected to be an obstacle to overcome for the 2014 city budget.
That word from City Manager Trey Cocking, who presented the scenarios to City Commissioners during their latest budget workshop Thursday.
Cocking says the first lies with K-PERS. (Play Audio)
Cocking says the other system where changes are expected for the city is the benefits for Public Safety employees. (Audio Continues)
Cocking says that increase is due to more recent retirements on the public safety side.
City Commissioners are tentatively expected to be presented the City Manager's recommended 2014 budget at the July 15th Commission meeting.
