(KAIR) -- A noted relay to honor the memory of those lost and celebration for those that survived cancer will take place in Atchison Friday evening.
The annual Relay for Life will begin with a survivor dinner at five at the Atchison High School commons area.
The event will kick off on the school’s track at 6:30 with cancer survivors walking the first lap, followed by a live auction at seven.
The luminary lighting ceremony to honor those that lost their battle will start at 10:30, followed by the closing and awards ceremony at midnight.
Chairwoman Kendra Myers says while there will be a lot of walking for awareness, some of it will have a touch of fun.
