(KLZA)- A Falls City, City Council member is recovering from a stroke.
Mayor Tim Hersh reported during Monday evening's meeting that Third Ward Council member Steve Scholl recently suffered a stroke.
In other business, Council members approved an agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads for repaving Highway 73 from 7th Street to the South City Limits as part of the project to resurface the Highway south to the Nebraska – Kansas state line. No firm date for the project has been announced.
A request to lease Prichard Auditorium for a wedding reception and allow alcohol to be served was approved, as was a special designated liquor request for the Class of 1963 reunion at the Grand Weaver Hotel for Rick Lemerond.
During the Administrators report, Gary Jorn reminded the public that even though ball games are being played at the Fiedler Complex, work is continuing to be done.
Jorn also noted that despite cool wet weather, the Falls City Aquatic Park is open for the summer.
