(KAIR) -- An annual fundraising run/walk to help area citizens with a rare bone disorder is coming to the Atchison riverfront Saturday.
The Building Better Bones 5k will begin at one.
Done in conjunction with Children’s Mercy Hospital, it’s to benefit those with O.I., or osteogenesis imperfecta.
Otherwise known as brittle bone disease, those who suffer from this tend to suffer several bone breaks over their lifetime, especially in their youth.
Brooke Johnson’s sister and her sister’s two children suffer from the disorder.
Johnson says the money raised from the event will go to families like her sister’s.

Registration for the event begins at 11 until the time of the event at the Riverfront.
