(KTNC) - The Falls City School Board got a preliminary look at the proposed list of maintenance projects for the next year during Monday’s meeting.
Highlighting the project list, presented by Superintendent Tim Heckenlively, is ADT security upgrades at all four district school buildings.
A majority of the project list is at the High School. That includes $45,000 for roof maintenance; tuck pointing at Jug Brown Stadium; repairs to the east wall of the auditorium; adding gutters to the strength and conditioning room; repairs to the locker room at the stadium; and replacing walking lights at the stadium.
Also included on the list is a maintenance program for the turf at Jug Brown Stadium. Heckenlively said the work by the company, Prograss, would extend the life of the artificial turf – as well as the warranty on the turf. The maintenance would be done on an annual basis.
Other maintenance projects in clued replacing a couple entrance doors at North School; replacing metal ceiling tiles in the hallway at North School; extending fencing around the perimeter of the North School playground; replacing doors at the main entrance at South School; and general roof maintenance at all district buildings.
The total cost of the recommended projects is just over $129,000, which is less than the $148,192 available budget for 2012-2013 projects.
