(KAIR) -- Atchison County, Solid Waste Project Manager Chase Brunick updated the County Commissioners Monday about re-issuing property statements reflecting the new solid waste fee.
Last week, after a couple weeks of public backlash from small business owners, Commissioners voted to cut non-residences fees in half.
Brunick reported that new statements should be in the mail within the next couple of days.
However, during the discussion, Commissioner Jeff Schuele says the board visited the idea to modernize the payment of property taxes.

In other business, the board voted to replace handrails at the entrances of the courthouse for 24 hundred dollars.
This comes after a car jumped a handicap accessible curb and damaged the rail of the north entrance last month.
