Falls City School Board Accepts Teacher Resignation

(KTNC) - The Falls City Board of Education accepted the resignation of a longtime district teacher Monday night.   The board regretfully accepted the resignation of Kindergarten teacher Diana Kottich, who has been with the Falls City School District since 1979.
 North School Principal Ernie Valentine said Kottich plans to continue helping in the classroom three days a week through the second semester. 
 The board approved a contract with Kim Nolte to replace Kottich.  Nolte has been teaching in the district as a long-term substitute for the past two semesters.
 In other action Monday night, the board approved the first reading of a district policy pertaining to the physical restraint and seclusion of students.
 The board also voted to recognize the Falls City Education Association as the bargaining agent for the 2014-2015 Contract Year.
 Ellen Stokebrand and Mitzi Hoback with ESU 4 gave a presentation to the board, explaining the many services the ESU provides to school districts.
 Those include health services, support services, professional development, special education, technology, and career academies.
 The board also met in executive session for the Superintendent evaluation.
