The Pawnee City, City Council, held three public hearings during Monday night’s meeting, with no opposition voiced to any of the matters discussed.
The council approved a loan request of $40,000 from city reuse funds to Kyle Gottula. Gottula requested the funds so he can purchase a portion of Kerl’s Service Center.
The second hearing was on a rezoning application from Edwin and Maddie Yoder for a parcel of land north of Pawnee City on Highway 50. The Yoders requested the zoning change so they can open a business, selling what they describe as “bent and dent” salvage items, at the location.
The Planning Commission had recommended approval of the zoning change.
The council then approved the one and six year street plan following another public hearing that drew no opposition.
In other business Monday night, the Pawnee City Council approved a payment of $108,343 to Eriksen Construction for the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
And Sheriff Jayme Reed informed the council that a Pawnee County deputy has interviewed for a position with the SEADE Task Force. Should the deputy be hired for the task force, the Sheriff’s Department would be looking for another deputy.
