The Sacred Heart girls basketball team is headed back to the State basketball tournament for the 15th time in the past 17 years. The Irish are 19-5 on the season and are ranked 8th in the latest Lincoln Journal Star poll.
The Irish knocked off the Hampton Hawks Friday night in the District Final to advance to the state tournament in class D2.
Sacred Heart has a tough first round opponent in 3rd ranked Wynot, the D2 defending state champs who are 23-3 on the season. Wynot was runner-up in 2010.
