The Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of a house fire that took place Friday morning at 1527 Center Street in Atchison.
Atchison Fire Chief Mike McDermed says crews responded to the scene at 5:36 Friday morning.

The Fire Department requested the Fire Marshal to come investigate due to the fact Achievement Services receives state funding.
The house currently has significant damage to the rear portion and roof.
Crews were still monitoring the house as of mid-morning Friday for hot spots.
