(KLZA)-- The Falls City Council voted unanimously Monday night to approve the 2014 Phase I updated plan for Downtown Revitalization and also authorized Mayor Jerry Oliver to sign the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Grant Application for $350,000
Phase II plans call for improvements to building facades in downtown Falls City and sidewalk replacements in the downtown.
In other action the Council approved a contract with Tyco for alarm and video monitoring services for the Library. The cost for the monitoring which includes burglar alarms, fire alarms and video systems comes at a cost of $5356 annually.
Approval was also given to hiring summer help. Two workers are to be hired for the Street and Gas Departments, and two for the cemetery.
