(KTNC)--The Internet has made it more convenient for people to conduct a variety of business from home, or at odd hours. Some of that convenience is now being extended to patrons of the Falls City Library and Arts Center, thanks to a redesigned website and new software.
A member of the Library Foundation is covering the cost of the new software, called Apollo, for the first year.
The software allows library patrons to check the library's catalog, place holds on materials, and check out books and videos online. It will also send an e-mail notification when a book that has been reserved is ready to be picked up and an alert when it’s due to be returned to the library.
Library Director Hope Schawang says they’re happy with the new software, which she says is user-friendly and replaces the old system that was 20 years old. She says they will hold training sessions for patrons who need to familiarize themselves with the new software. The Library’s website is www.fallscitylibrary.org.
