(KAIR) -- The City of Atchison will soon be looking to develop a new position in an effort to create more activities in the downtown district.
City Commissioners gave verbal approval Thursday at their second budget workshop to funding the position in the 2014 budget.
City Manager Trey Cocking says this position would be a branch of the Community Development Department.

The new position is still contingent on passage of the 2014 budget, which isn't expected until later this summer.
