(KAIR) -- An Atchison mixed martial arts trainer and promoter will have one of the events he promotes featured on a series on the History Channel.
Travis Courter, owner of Bad Intentions MMA, first started training to be a fighter over four years ago as a way to stay in shape on his days off from the Atchison Fire Department.
He then opened the gym, which later led to him going full-time as a trainer and promoter.
Courter started promoting cage fighting events in Saint Joseph, known as the BlacKOut Fighting Championships.
More MMA organizations have learned about his promotion since and believes it led to the surprising call.

The event for the show will be June 8th at Max Motors in Butler, Missouri, and available on pay per view under “Go Fight Live” at www.gfl.tv.
Courter says he was told excerpts from the taped event with air on the series sometime in July.
