Ohio Man Arrested in Courthouse Bomb Threats
03/26/2013

(KTNC) - An Ohio man has been charged in the investigation into dozens of bomb threats made to courthouses in Nebraska and four other states last year.

The FBI arrested 39-year-old Lonny Bristow of Mansfield, Ohio, last Wednesday.  He made an initial court appearance in federal court in Cleveland last Thursday and waived a bond hearing.  He was initially charged with a single count of making a bomb threat by phone.

At least nine courthouses in Nebraska received bomb threats over a period of several weeks late last year.  That included courthouses in Richardson, Otoe, Johnson, Gage, Lancaster, Cass, Saline, Jefferson, and Seward Counties.

There was no indication of a possible motive.  Reports say some of the bomb threats were made with pre-paid calling cards that were purchased at an Ohio Wal-Mart, which eventually led agents to Bristow.
