03/05/2013

(KAIR) -- Several county-owned lots in Jefferson County will soon be cleaned up.

County Commissioners authorized 13 bids totaling 16 thousand 500 dollars for Ozawkie resident Edwin Noble to clean up properties mainly located within Lakeside Village.

Jeff Dover of Ozawkie also met with Commissioners expressing interest in cleaning up the remaining county-owned lots.

Dover said he planned to return to the board with bids.

The board also on the record announced their intent to sell the abandoned Bio-Foods building in rural Oskaloosa in mid to late April.

The county has owned the property since 2011 and sold its personal property in January.
