(KAIR) -- Saint Benedict’s Abbey in Atchison has named their new Abbot.
Father James Albers was elected the monastery’s ninth Abbot late Friday morning.
The Bendena native reacts to his election.

Albers has been with the Abbey since October 1995, made profession of vows in December 1996 and was ordained a priest in July of 2000.
He will replace Abbot Barnabas Senecal, who met the age requirement for retirement after being presiding Abbot for the past 18 years.
