(KAIR) -- In a short meeting of the Atchison City Commissioners, Commissioners voted to give City Manager Trey Cocking a contract extension after an executive session.
The one year extension, plus raise, will run through the end of 2015.
In other business, Commissioners voted to enter into a new franchise agreement with Kansas Gas Service.
City Manager Trey Cocking says the new agreement will give them extra savings on their property tax bill.

In addition, MGP Ingredients has agreed to have the cap raised for the highest users, which would result in 25 thousand dollars in extra revenue for the city, which has been requested to go toward water infrastructure improvements.
