(KAIR) -- A car is a total loss after becoming fully engulfed in flames in Atchison’s Jackson Park.
Atchison Fire Chief Mike McDermed says crews responded just after three Wednesday afternoon.

McDermed says the investigators learned from the car’s owner Jeffrie Sears that the incident started with a blown out tire on his 2000 Chevy Cavalier.

Sears and an occupant in the vehicle were able to escape injury.
