(KAIR) -- A Community Development Block Grant application to improve roads in the Lakewood Hills Improvement District in rural Ozawkie was approved Monday by the Jefferson County Commission following a public hearing.
The project will use a process called double chip and seal at an estimated to cost of just over one-point-one million dollars.
The grant will cover 400 thousand dollars of the cost with the remaining funds coming from a 30 year Rural Development low interest loan.
The Lakewood Hills Improvement District hopes to start construction in July 2013.
Around 300 residents live in the Lakewood Hills Improvement District.
