(KAIR) -- As part of a long-time continued tradition, the Atchison High School cross country team will be running from their homecoming opponent’s school back to Atchison.
However, USD 409’s Activities Director David Fitz says they are doing more than just running.

The distance from KC Schlagle to Atchison High School’s field is 51 miles.
People are encouraged to follow the route as they come into town on US-73 from Leavenworth, running to Main Street and up to 17th Street.
They are tentatively expected to reach Atchison city limits by six this evening.
