(KAIR) -- Jefferson County Commissioners Monday discussed their employee health insurance provider for 2013.
The renewal premium for Blue Cross Blue Shield Health insurance was 13 percent higher due to large claims in the last quarter, 65 thousand dollars more than was budgeted.
Dental insurance also went up 11 thousand 900 dollars from last year.
Since the 2013 budget currently contains a 20 dollar increase in the amount employees contribute toward their health insurance; the 65 thousand will be absorbed by the county.
The next meeting of the Jefferson County Commissioners won’t take place until October 15th due to employee in-service day.
