Meriden Library Requests Expanded Tax Boundaries
09/18/2012

(KAIR) -- A group of Meriden library board members met with Jefferson County Commissioners Monday in an effort to expand the boundaries of the library taxing district.

Librarian Jerie Tichenor and library board members Vanita Hunt and Karolyn Conaway asked Commissioners to approve a petition for calling for an election to expand the boundaries of the library taxing district.

Currently the library receives funding from the city of Meriden and Rock Creek Township.

After discussing with the group what should be the boundaries, they suggested the boundaries of USD 340.

The forms were taken by Commissioners for review and requested that the issue be resolved at next week’s meeting.
