(KAIR)--The civil suit filed by the children of slain rural Horton resident Patricia Kimmi heads to jury trial, with the date now set for January 14th.
Kimmi's adult children filed a wrongful death lawsuit a year ago against their father, Eugene, and Roger and Rebecca Hollister. Roger Hollister is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Kimmi.
The lawsuit states that Hollister, his wife, and Eugene-Patricia's ex-husband-conspired to kill the late Kimmi. The suit seeks more than 75-thousand-dollars from the three.
Roger Hollister appeared in Atchison County District Court Wednesday in connection with the case.
16 motions were heard, including a request from the defense for a change of venue, which was postponed until September 28th, when the judge granted a request from the Kimmi family for more time in order to respond.
Another motion included an order for the Kimmi children to produce hand written notes that Kimmi’s son, Anthony, made during Roger Hollister’s criminal trial within 10 days.
Kimmi's remains were found on a farm owned by Hollister's brother in May of 2010.
During Hollister's 6-day trial in 2011, allegations were made regarding Eugene Kimmis' involvement in his ex-wife's death.
However, he has never been charged in connection with the murder.
