(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners are set to seek solid waste proposals.
Commissioners set a target date Monday to have trash or recycling bids, or both, by September 21st at noon, with the opening on September 24th at 10am.
From there, County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says implementation of the program on the county side will commence in April 2013, pending on the terms of their current contract with Waste Management from Olathe, which expires at that point.
Commissioners also held a special meeting Thursday where they took a road trip to 274th and Graham Roads near Lancaster to view a bridge where area farmers expressed concerns on its width.
Schuele describes what they plan do with the bridge.

In other business Monday, KDOT Representative Leroy Kane informed Commissioners of their intentions to replace a bridge on K-74 highway between U-S 73 highway and Potter in spring 2015.
The bridge would be 100 years old by the time of its replacement.
