(KAIR) -- A State Representative visited Jefferson County Commissioners Monday in an effort to get support for a speed reduction on a state highway through Valley Falls.
Ramon Gonzalez made the request, also supported by the Mayor of Valley Falls, to lower the speed to 45 on K-4 highway through Valley Falls.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has also made a request of support from the Commissioners.
The board then made the consensus that they supported a reduction to 50 miles per hour for the stretch of the highway from the intersection of K-4 and Oak Street to the west edge of the Delaware Bridge.
