Students of Benedictine College and visitors to Atchison with Verizon Wireless mobile devices will have an easier time getting a signal.
Verizon officials have confirmed that a cell-site with 4GLTE capabilities went live at Benedictine College in May.
Brenda Hill is a spokesperson with Verizon Wireless for Kansas and Missouri.

Reports from Verizon users have said that the phone signal stretches to the intersection of 59 and 73 highway south, to the Missouri River east and to at least 14th street west, and a few miles north of city limits.
Prior to the tower going live, temporary towers were brought in to campus to satisfy larger events.
Hill says, eventually, Verizon 4GLTE will be all areas of Atchison.

Hill says 4GLTE was first implemented in late 2010 and now covers over two-thirds of the nation.
She says officials are aiming to have 4GLTE coverage nationwide by the end of 2013.
