Atchison will be hosting the Seventh Annual Juneteenth Celebration this weekend at LFM Park.
Treasurer Donald Bratton defines the significance behind Juneteenth.

Saturday events will include a Juneteenth March led by Roslaind Stillman from 8th & Riley towards L.F.M. Park.
Also featured at the event Saturday will be the Atchison River Rods Car Club, Buffalo Soldiers, Dog Drill Team, and Marching Falcons and more…. And if you find yourself enjoying trolley rides there will be a Trolley Tour located at 8th & L St. at 2 to 3:30 and 4 to 5:30.
Bratton describes how the community works to maintain the concept and tradition of Juneteenth.

Events on Sunday include Sunday school, Gospel Explosion Program, Relay Races, Children’s Fashion Show, and a Free Lunch.
