Some citizens in Atchison have a transformer explosion to blame for a slight trip in their power Thursday morning.
Atchison fire crews were called to the transformer located near Kansas highway seven and Harper Drive.
Atchison Fire Chief Mike McDermed says crews tended to smoldering embers in the grass.
He says no homes were damaged by the explosion and believe an animal may have caused the incident.
Fire crews were uncertain if any homes lost power but after consulting with Westar, they believe power would have been restored in short order.
