The Pawnee City Council will meet in regular session at 7:30 Monday evening.
The council’s agenda includes a scheduled meeting with Janice Stopak of USDA Rural Development and Alan Richard of the PCDC. They will give a presentation on assisted living education. That portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:45, and last half-an-hour.
Prior to that, Thom Hunt is scheduled to meet with the council. Hunt is a Fairbury artist who recently purchased the Carnegie Library Building. Hunt is seeking council permission to use Pawnee City parks for a summer festival and to create a sculpture in one of the parks.
Other business for the council includes consideration of drawdowns on the Housing Rehab Project Grant. Consideration will also be given to a request from the Veterans’ Memorial Committee, which is seeking permission to get electricity from a city light pole to power a light to shine on the memorial, which will be erected on the Courthouse property.
The council will review minutes of the August 22nd meeting implementing a 3-percent salary increase for the head librarian and assistant librarian after a probationary period.
The council will also get an update from the Shop Foreman and Zoning Administrator, and individual council members during Monday’s meeting.
