Atchison County Commissioners are looking into bond refinancing for the two county owned ball parks in an attempt to save taxpayer money.
Commissioners met Monday with Roger Edgar of George K. Baum and Company to discuss refinancing the parks in Effingham and western Atchison.
Schuele says with interest rates the way they are, now is the time to look changing the 20 year bonds first instituted in 2007.

Scheule also said Commissioners plan to sit down with other entities involved with the ball park to discuss long term plans in maintaining operations and running the programs at the park.
Commissioners will also see relief in the funding project to replace the lentils and windows at Memorial Hall. They were awarded the 90 thousand dollar maximum grant from the Heritage Charitible Trust.
Schuele says this was one of the best awards given in the entire state.
