(KLZA)-- The jury trial for a Falls City man accused of murdering his cousin in August of 2015 has been postponed again.
Originally scheduled for February, the trial was postponed until May 23rd, a delay request from defense attorney’s was granted with a new trial date of September 19th. Recently a motion for a continuance by defendant, Desedario Hernandez was granted in Richardson County District Court.
The trial is now scheduled to begin November 28th.
Hernandez entered a not guilty plea to charges of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person in November of 2015. He is accused of shooting Joseph Debella Jr. during an August 4, 2015 argument in Falls City. Debella died eight days later at a Lincoln hospital.
If convicted, Hernandez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He remains in custody on $1.5-million bond.
