(KAIR) -- Five Atchison teens were injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in an Atchison park Thursday afternoon, with one being lifeflighted.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says it happened around 4:30 at Jackson Park.
Wilson says 18-year-old Parker Shipley-Roland was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 north on a road in the park, with five male teens in the bed of the truck, when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve and it overturned. Shipley-Roland and the passengers in the bed were all ejected from the vehicle.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says four of the teens, Shipley-Roland, 18-year-old Jacob Hennigh, 17-year-old Sean Falk and 16-year-old Sam Panchot, were transported to the Atchison Hospital with undiscolosed injuries.
One of the teens in the bed of the truck, 17-year-old John Shankman, was flown by helicopter to the KU Medical Center in Kansas City with disabling injuries.
Seventeen year old Kyle Mason, who also was riding in the back of the truck, was not hurt.
The Patrol says Shipley-Roland wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
