(KLZA) Following a public hearing Tuesday the Pawnee County Board of Commissioners approved property tax levies for the various county entities for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
The levy for Pawnee County will be 36.67 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The total tax requirement for the County will be $1,651,000. In addition the Pawnee County Ag Society levy will be 5.99 cents per $100 with a total tax requirement of $27,000. The total valuation for Pawnee County is just over 450-million dollars.
In other action items during the hour and 45-minute meeting Commissioners held a public hearing on amending the budget. The Handibus fund was amended to $2,500 from $7,334 on revenue and expenditures. The Inheritance Tax Fund was amended to $1,791,505 from $225,000 for expenditures. Neither amendment will change the amount of tax dollars needed. Following the hearing the Board approved the proposed amendments.
The Board voted not to purchase tax sale certificates in the year 2012.
