(KTNC) - The Falls City Board of Education approved the compensation package for the district’s certified and classified employees for the next two years, following a closed session Monday night.
The board unanimously approved the negotiated contract with the Falls City Education Association.  Under the terms of the contract, the base salary for certified teachers in the Falls City School District will increase $650 for the 2012-2013 school year, to $31,725.  The base salary will increase another $500 to $32,225 for the 2013-2014 school year.
The contract also calls for continuation of the $600 deductible under the EHA Blue Cross Blue Shield plan.  It adds a half-percent increase for yearbook extra-duty from 5.5 to 6-percent. All other provisions of the master contract remain the same.
The board also unanimously approved a 25-cent increase to the hourly wage for all classified employees.  The insurance deductible remains at $600, and the deductible reimbursement will be implemented for the 2012-2013 school year.
